HOW TO MAKE A PHONE CALL

Apuntes del dia 25 de Marzo de 2010. Hemos estado repasando los exámenes Writing individualmente y muy pocos apuntes, ya que faltaba gente por hacer el Speaking y lo han hecho hoy:

Comenzamos de nuevo con los verbos intransitivos:

1- SWIM - SWAM - SWUM : Nadar
SWIM /swIm/ "suimm"
SWAM /swaem/ "suaemm"
SWUM /swʌm/ "suomm"
** A la hora de pronunciarlo es como el verbo TO SING.

2- TAKE - TOOK - TAKEN : Llevar
TAKE /teIk/ "ttteikkk"
TOOK /tʊk/ "tttuk"
TAKEN /teIkn/ "ttteiknnn" (sonido nasal tras la k )

3- TEAR - TORE - TORN : Romper desgarrando
TEAR /tea/ "tttea"
TORE /tɔ:/ "tttooo"
TORN /tɔ:n / "tttounn"

* TEAR /tIa/ "tttia" : Lágrima

HOW TO MAKE A PHONE CALL:
A la hora de coger el teléfono en inglés, hay varias formas de preguntar por alguien así como para responder, se dividen en:
1- Identifiying the listener:
- Is that Bruno Zola? : Es usted Bruno Zola ?
- Could I speak to Bruno Zola, please? : Podria hablar con Bruno Zola, por favor ?
SI QUEREMOS PREGUNTAR LO MISMO DE FORMA INFORMAL:
- Is that Bruno? : Eres Bruno?
- Is that you, Bruno? Eres tú Bruno?

2- Saying who you are:
- (Yes,)speaking
SI QUEREMOS RESPONDER LO MISMO DE FORMA INFORMAL:
- Yes (it is) : Sí, soy yo.

3- Introducing yourself:
- My name´s Elena Ponti
SI QUEREMOS RESPONDER LO MISMO DE FORMA INFORMAL:
- It´s Elena : Soy Elena
- This is Elena : Soy Elena

CUIDADO: No se usan los mismo términos para responder o preguntar por teléfono que cuando lo hacemos en persona.

WAYS HOW TO ANSWER THE PHONE:

ON THE PHONE: Por teléfono
NUNCA SE UTILIZA YES, I AM: SE UTILIZA : YES, SPEAKING // YES, IT IS , PARA RESPONDER SI, SOY YO.

INSTEAD OF...THEY SAY... : En vez de .... dicen ....

Hemos hecho y practicado el ejercicio Answer the phone de la pag 51, también el ejercicio 4.8 del Listening Booklet.
